I love to read Christmas novels in December, and this month was no different. However, that didn’t mean I was going to discontinue reading Cinda Williams Chima’s Heir series.
MY DECEMBER READS
This one was a really sweet story. I especially enjoyed it because it was set in an area I love–California’s gold country. The only reason I did not rate this novel a four out of five stars is because I didn’t think all the sex was necessary and it was a great story that could have worked without it. I should have looked at the publisher before I bought the book.
These books just suck me in and make me want to read more and more. The suspense is unrelenting. I planned to bring book IV home from school to read over Christmas break. I was sooooooooooooooo disappointed to get home and find I had forgotten it. I had to wait a full two weeks and two days before I could start the next book!
This was a good family story set in the mid-west about grandparents raising their orphaned grandchildren. There was the yearning to make Christmas wonderful for your kids, a touch of “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever,” the angst of being an uprooted kid in a new place, and the age-old can’t live with them/can’t live without them of sibling relationships. A very enjoyable read.
This was a fun, time-travel, Christmas romance. There’s quirky, endearing characters, the humor of romantic comedy, and the tension of trying to manipulate time travel and get everyone where they long to be for Christmas. A thoroughly enjoying read.
